28章

マルタ島のパウロ

1そして、彼らはれてから、その島がメリタと呼ばれていることを知りました。2そして、異邦人たちは私たちにとても親切にして彼らは火を焚いて、今降っている雨と寒さのために、私たち一人一人を迎えてくれました。3ところが、パウロが薪を束ねて火にくべると、熱気からまむしが出て来て、彼の手に巻きつきました。4異邦人たちは、毒のある獣が彼の手に巻きついているのを見て、互いに言いました。「この男は間違いなく人殺しだ。海からは逃れたが、復讐は彼を生かしておかない。」5しかし、パウロは獣を火の中に振り落とし、何の害も受けありませんでした。6しかし、彼らは、彼が腫れ上がるか、突然倒れて死ぬかと見ていたが、しばらく見ていても何の害も受けていないのを見て、考えを変えて、彼は神だと言いました。

 

7その地区には、島の長老で名をプブリウスという人の所有地があり、彼は私たちを迎え入れ、3日間丁重に泊めてくれました。8プブリウスの父親が熱病と下痢で寝ていたので、パウロは彼のところに行き、祈り、手を置いて癒しました。9このことがあった後、島で病気にかかっていた他の人々もやって来て癒されました。10彼らはまた、私たちに多くの栄誉を与えてくれました。私たちが出発するときには、必要なものを積み込んでくれました。

パウロ、ローマに到着

11　3か月後、私たちはアレキサンドリアの船で出発しました。その船は島で冬を越していたもので、船のふな飾りは、カストルとポルックスでした。12それからシラクサに上陸し、そこで3日間滞在しました。 13そこから私たちは方位計を取り、レギオンに着きました。一日経つと南風が吹き、次の日にはプテオリに着きました。14そこで私たちは兄弟たちに会い、彼らと七日間滞在するように言われ、ローマに向かいました。15そこから兄弟たちは私たちのことを聞いて、アピイ広場と三宿屋まで私たちを迎えに来ました。パウロはそれを見て神に感謝し、勇気づけられました。

16ローマに着くと、百人隊長は囚人たちを衛兵の長に引き渡しましたが、パウロは護衛兵とともに一人で住むことを許されました。

17三日後、パウロはユダヤ人の長老たちを呼び集めた。集まったとき、パウロは彼らに言いました。「兄弟たちよ、私は民や先祖の慣習に反する行為を何も犯していないのに、エルサレムからローマ人の手に囚人として引き渡されたのです。18彼らは私を取り調べた後、死刑に値するようなことは何もなかったので、釈放しようとしました。19しかし、ユダヤ人が反対しましたので、私は皇帝に上訴せざるを得ませんでしました。私の国民を訴える理由がなかったからです。20このために私はあなたを訪ね、あなたに会って話をしようとしましたのです。イスラエルの希望のために、私はこの鎖につながれているのですから。21彼らは彼に言いました。「私たちはユダヤからあなたに関する手紙を受け取らず、また来た兄弟たちもあなたについて何か悪いことを言ったり、話したりしました者は一人もいません。」 22しかし、私たちはあなたがどう考えているか、あなたから聞きたいのです。この宗派については、どこでも反対されていることを知っているからです。

23そして、彼らが日取りを決めたので、大勢の人が彼の宿にやって来ました。パウロは朝から晩まで、神の国について説き、証しし、モーセの律法と預言者の教えから、イエスについて説得しました。24ある者は語られたことを信じましたが、ある者は信じませんでした。25彼らは意見が合わなかったので、立ち去りました。パウロは一言、「聖霊は預言者イザヤを通して、私たちの先祖によく語られまた。

26こう言われた。『この民のところに行って言いなさい。『あなたがたは聞いても、理解しないであろう。見ても、悟らないであろう。』

27この民の心は鈍くなり、耳は聞こえなくなり、目は閉じている。それは、彼らが目で見、耳で聞き、心で悟って、悔い改めて、わたしが彼らを癒すことのないためである。

28 だから、神の救いは異邦人に送られ、彼らはそれを聞くことになるということを、あなたがたはよく知っていなさい。 29 使徒行伝 28:29 パウロがこれらのことを語り終えると、ユダヤ人たちは立ち去って、互いに激しく論じ合いました。。

30 パウロは自分の借りた家にまる二年間住み、自分のところに来る者をみな受け入れ、 31 神の国を宣べ伝え、主イエス・キリストについて教え、全くの確信をもって語ったのでだれもそれをやめさせることはできませんでした。

使徒行伝27章

   パウロ、ローマへ向けて出航

 

1そして、私たちがイタリアへ航海することが決まったとき、パウロと他の囚人たちは、アウグストゥスの部隊の百人隊長ユリアスという人物に引き渡されました。2そして、私たちはアドラミティオンの船に乗り込み、アジアの海岸を航海するつもりで出航しました。テサロニケのマケドニア人アリスタルコという人物も同行していました。3そして翌日、私たちはシドンに寄港しました。ユリアスはパウロを丁重に扱い、友人のところへ行って休養するのを許してくれました。4そこから出航すると、風が逆だったので、キプロスの下を航海しました。5そして、キリキアとパンフィリアの海を渡り、リキアの町ミラに着きました。6そこで百人隊長は、イタリアへ航海するアレクサンドリアの船を見つけ、私たちをそこに乗せました。 7 数日間ゆっくりと航海し、風も吹かず、やっとクニドスに着いたとき、私たちはクレタ島の下を通り、サルモネ島の向こう岸を航海しました。 8 やっとそこを通り過ぎて、美しい港と呼ばれる場所に着きました。その近くにラセアの町がありました。

 

9 時間が経ち、断食期間が過ぎていたので航海が危険になったので、パウロは彼らに忠告して、 10 こう言いました。「皆さん、この航海は、積荷や船だけでなく、私たちの生命にも、大きな損害と損失をもたらすことを、私は知っています。」 11 しかし、百人隊長は、パウロが語ったことよりも、船長や船主の言葉を信じました。 12 その港は冬を過ごすのに適していなかったので、ほとんどの人は、何とかしてフェニキアに着いてそこで冬を過ごすことができれば、そこから出発しようと主張しました。そこはクレタ島の港で、南西と北西に面しています。

 

13南風がかに吹くと、この時とばかりに思い、そこから出航し、クレタ島の近くを航海しました。

14しかし、間もなく、ユーロクリュドンと呼ばれる暴風が向かい風として吹き始めました。15船が風に巻き込まれ、風に耐えられなくなったので、私たちは流されるままにしました。16そして、クラウダと呼ばれる島の下を航行し、私たちは船で多くの作業を行いました。17船を引き揚げると、船を補強する補助具を使いました。スルテスの洲に乗り上げるのを恐れ、帆をおろして流れるままにしました 18 嵐でひどく揺れたので、翌日、人々は積荷を捨てはじめて軽くしました。 19 そして三日目に、私たちは自分の手で船の装備を捨てました。 20 そして、何日も太陽も星も見えず、激しい嵐が私たちを襲ったので、私たちが助かるという望みは、その時すべて打ち砕かれました。

 

21 しかし、長い食事もしないでいましたが、パウロは彼らの真ん中に立って言いました。「皆さん、私の言うことを聞いていれば、クレテから出航して、このような損害や損失を被ることはなかったでしょう。 22 それで、今、私はあなた方に勧めます。あなた方の中で、船以外に命を失う人は一人もいないでしょうから。23 というのは、私は神の使いであり、神の使いに仕えているのだが、その使いは、今夜、私のそばに立って、 24 こう言いました。『パウロよ、恐れることはない。あなたは皇帝の前に引き出される。見よ、神はあなたと共に航海する者を皆あなたに与えておられる。』 25 ですから、皆さん、元気を出してください。私は、私に告げられたとおりに事が進むと神を信じているのです。 26 しかし、私たちはある島に漂着するに違いありません。」

27 十四日目の夜になって、アドリア海を漂流しているうちに、真夜中ごろ、船員たちは、どこかの島に近づいたと思いました。 28 そして測深機で測ると、その深さは二十尋でありました。さらに少し進んでから、もう一度測深機で測ると、十五尋でありました。 29 そこで、私たちが岩に打ち付けてしまうのではないかと恐れ、船尾から四つの錨を投げ出して、夜明けを待ちました。 30 船員たちは船から逃げようとして、船首から錨を投げ捨てるふりをして、小舟を海に降ろしました。 31 パウロは百人隊長と兵士たちに言いました。「この人たちが船にとどまっていなければ、あなたたちは助からない。」 32 そこで兵士たちは小舟の綱を切り、小舟を落とさせました。

 

33 日が暮れようとしましたので、パウロは皆に食事を取るように勧めて言いました。「今日は、何も食べずに断食を続けてから十四日目です。 34 ですから、どうか食事を取ってください。これはあなたたちの健康のためです。あなたたちの頭から髪の毛一本も抜け落ちることはないでしょう。」 35 こう言ってから、パウロはパンを取り、皆の前で神に感謝し、それを裂いて食べ始めた。 36それで皆元気になり、食物も食べました。37船には全部で二百七十六人いました。38十分に食べた後、船を軽くし、小麦を海に投げ捨てました。

39夜が明けると、彼らは陸地が分からなかったが、岸のある入り江を見つけました。そこに船を差し込めるなら、そこに船を差し入れようと思いました。

40 そこで、いかりを切り離して海に捨て、同時にかじの綱をゆるめ、風に前の帆をあげて、砂浜にむかって進みました。

41  ところが、潮流の流れ合う所に突き進んだため、舟を浅瀬に乗りあげてしまって、へさきがめり込んで動かなくなり、ともの方は激浪のためにこわされた。

42  兵卒たちは、囚人らが泳いで逃げるおそれがあるので、殺してしまおうと図ったが、

43  百卒長は、パウロを救いたいと思うところから、その意図をしりぞけ、泳げる者はまず海に飛び込んで陸に行き、

44  その他の者は、板や舟の破片に乗って行くように命じまし。こうして、全部の者が上陸して救われたのです。 

27章

マルコによる福音書第４章（欽定訳）

４章　　済

1.　さて、彼はまた海辺で教え始められた。すると、彼の所に大群衆が寄り集まってきた。そこで彼は小船に乗り込み、海の上で腰をお掛けになった。そこで群衆はみな、海に面した地にいた。
2.　それから、彼はもろもろのたとえ話を使って多くのことを彼等に教えになったが、彼等にその教えのうちに、こう仰せになった。
3.「聞きなさい。見よ、ある種まきが種蒔きに出て行った。
4.　さて、彼が種蒔きをしていると、ある種は、道ばたにおちた。

すると、空の鳥たちがやって来て、その種を食べてしまった。
5.　他は、石地に落ちた。そこは、土が多くはなかった。そして、すぐに芽が出てきた。浅地だったからだ。
6.　しかし、太陽が昇ると、それは焼けてしまった。根無しのために、それは枯れたのだ。
7.　また、幾つかの種は、棘科の草の間に落ちた。そして棘の草が育ってきてそれをふさいだ。それで、それは何も収穫がなかった。
8.　さて、他の種で、良い地に落ちたものは育って収穫があがった。それは、増えて、あるものは三十を、あるものは六十を、そしてあるものは百の実を結んだ。」
9.　そして彼らに仰せになった。「聞く耳を持っている人は聞きなさい！」

10.　さて、彼がお一人の時に、かの十二人と一緒にいた人たちが、彼にそのたとえ話について尋ねた。
11.　すると、彼らに仰せになった。「汝らには、天の神の王国の秘密について知る事が許されている。しかし、他の人々には、すべては、たとえの形でなされる。
12.　というのは、彼らは見るには見ているかもしれないが、気づかない。また、彼らは聞くには聞いているかもしれないが、悟らない。彼らが立ち返ることのないため、また、彼らのもろもろの罪が赦されないためだ。」
13.　そして、（彼は）彼らに仰せになった。「汝らは、このたとえがわかっていないのか？それなら、どうして汝らは、このたとえを全部理解するだろうか？
14.種を蒔く者は、御言葉を蒔いている。
15.　そして、御言葉が蒔かれたのが道ばたであった人とはこういう人のことだ。彼らが聞いているとき、すぐにかのサタンがやって来て、彼らの心に蒔かれた御言葉を取り除いていく。
16.　また、同じように、石地に蒔かれた人々はこういう人のことだ。彼らは、御言葉を聞いた時には、喜んですぐにそれを受け入れる。
17.　しかし、彼らは自分の（彼ら自身の）中に根がない。それだから、ほんの一時しか忍耐していない。後になってその御言葉のために、艱難や迫害が起きると、彼らはすぐにつまずく。
18.　また、棘科の草むらの中に蒔かれた人々というのは、こういう人のことだ。彼らは御言葉を聞いている。
19.　しかし、この世のもろもろの心配と、もろもろの富のごまかしと、その他のもろもろの物質的な願望が入ってきて、御言葉による成長を止める。そして、実を結ばない。
20.　しかし、良い土地の上に蒔かれた人々は、御言葉を聞いて受け入れている人たちのことだ。そして、一つは三十を、また、一つは六十を、一つは百の実を結んでいる人のことだ。」
21.　また、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「明かりは、升の下や、ベッドの下に置くべきだろうか？それは燭台の上に置くべきではないのか？
22.なぜなら、　漏らされない隠し事などは何もないし、明らかにならずに、隠されたままの秘密もないからだ。
23.　だれでも、聞く耳があるなら、その人は聞きなさい。」
24.　それから、彼はその人々（彼ら）に仰せになった。「汝らが聞いていることに注意しなさい。汝らたが使っている、その同じ量りが、汝らを量るようになる。そして、聞いているならば、もっと与えられる。

25.　だれでも、持っている人は、さらに与えられる。しかし、だれでも、持っていない人は、持っているものでさえも、彼から取り去られるからだ。」
26.　また、彼は仰せになった。「天の神の王国は、ちょうど、ある人が地に種を蒔くようなものだ。
27.　そして、夜寝ている時、また昼起きている時にも、その種は芽が出て成長していく。自分でも（彼自身）どうしてなのか〔そうなるのか〕は知らない。
28.　土地は自然に穀物を産するからだ。最初に葉、それから穂、その後で穂に実が一杯になる。
29.　そして、穀物が熟すると、彼はすぐに鎌を入れる。収穫の時が来たからだ。」
30.　それから彼は仰せになった。「天の神の王国を、私たちは何に似せてみようか？また、どんな譬えで私たちはそれをイメージ（描くことに）しようか？
31.　それは、からしの種に似ている。それがこの地にまかれる時には、地上のすべての種よりも小さい。
32.　しかし、それがまかれると、成長してあらゆる草よりも大きくなる。そしてもろもろの大きな枝が出てくる。それで、天のもろもろの鳥がその陰に巣を作る。」
33.　そして、彼らが聞けるようにと、彼は、そのように多くのたとえを使って彼らに御言葉をお語りになった。
34.　しかし、彼は彼らに対して、譬えを使わないではお語りにならなかった。そして、彼らだけになった時、彼はご自分の（彼の）弟子たちにすべてのことについて説明された。
35.　その日、夕方になった時、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「さあ、向こう岸に渡って行こう。」
36.　さて、彼らが群衆を残して出発した時、彼らはいつものように、彼を小舟の中にお乗せした。また、他の小舟たちも彼と一緒であった。
37.　すると、ひどい暴風が起こった。そして、波がなんども舟の中に打ち込んできたので、その舟はすでに〔水で〕一杯になっていた。
38.　しかし、彼は船尾の方で、まくらをして眠っておられた。そこで彼らは彼を起して、彼に言った。「先生、私たちが死にかかっているのに、気にかけられないんですか？」
39.　その時、彼は起き上がって風をお叱りになった。また、海に向かっても仰せになった。「静まれ。黙れ！」そして、風はやみ、そこには、完全な静けさがあった。
40.　しかし、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「どうして汝らは、そう恐れるのだ？いったい、汝らには信仰がないのか？」
41.　そこで、彼らは非常に恐れた。そして、互いに言い合った。「だれにこんなことができるのか。風や海でさえもこの方に従うなんて！」

The Parable of the Sower
4 And again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea.
2 Then He taught them many things by parables, and said to them in His teaching:
3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow.
4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it.
5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth.
 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away.
 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop.
8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
9 And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
The Purpose of Parables
10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable.
 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables,
 12 so that‘Seeing they may see and not perceive,
And hearing they may hear and not understand;
Lest they should turn,
And their sins be forgiven them.’”
The Parable of the Sower Explained
13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?
 14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.
 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word,
19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
Light Under a Basket
21 Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?
22 For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
25 For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,
27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.
28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
30 Then He said, “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it?
 31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth;
 32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”
Jesus’ Use of Parables
33 And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it.
 34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus
35 On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”
36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

 2 So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward.”
 4 Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
 5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.
6 Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
A Great Multitude Follows Jesus
7 But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea. And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea
 8 and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things He was doing, came to Him.
 9 So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him.
10 For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.
11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, “You are the Son of God.”
 12 But He sternly warned them that they should not make Him known.
13 And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him.
14 Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,
15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and[c] to cast out demons:
16 Simon, to whom He gave the name Peter;
 17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is, “Sons of Thunder”;

A House Divided Cannot Stand
20 Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.”
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”
23 So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan?
 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.
 27 No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.
The Unpardonable Sin
28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;
29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”—
30 because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers Send for Him
31 Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.
 32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.”
33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”
 34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”

Who will prepare Your way before You.”
3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make His paths straight.’”
4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5 Then all the land of Judea, and those from Jerusalem, went out to him and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
6 Now John was clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
7 And he preached, saying, “There comes One after me who is mightier than I, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loose.
8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
John Baptizes Jesus
9 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.
 11 Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Satan Tempts Jesus
12 Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.
Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
Four Fishermen Called as Disciples
16 And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
17 Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”
18 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
19 When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets.
 20 And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.
Jesus Casts Out an Unclean Spirit
21 Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught.
22 And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,
24 saying, “Let usalone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
26 And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27 Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.”
28 And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.
Peter’s Mother-in-Law Healed
29 Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once.
 31 So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.
Many Healed After Sabbath Sunset
32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed.
33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door.
34 Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
Preaching in Galilee
35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.
37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”
38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”
39 And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.
Jesus Cleanses a Leper
40 Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.”
41 Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
42 As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
43 And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once,
 44 and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
45 However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction.

19.　そこで、主イエスは彼らに仰せになった。「花婿の友人 たちは、花婿が彼らと一緒にいる間に断食ができるだろうか？花婿が一緒にいる限り、断食など彼らはできないだろう。

21.　だれも新しい布を古い着物に縫いつけたりはしない。そんなことをしたら、その新しい布は古い着物を破ってしまい、そのほころびはもっとひどくなる。
22.　また、だれも新しいワインを、古い革袋に入れたりはしない。そんなことをしたら、その新しいワインがそのもろもろの革袋を破裂させて、そのワインは流れ出てしまうし、その革袋もつかいものにならなくなる。だから、新しいワインは、新しい革袋に入れるものだ。」
23.　さて、しばらくして、彼は安息日に麦畑を通っていたが、彼の弟子たちは道すがらその穂を摘み始めた。
24.　すると、ファリサイ派の人々は彼に言った。「見よ。どうして彼らは安息日におきてを破るようなことをするのか？」

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic
2 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house.
2 Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.
 3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
7 “Why does this Manspeak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?
9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’?
 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic,
 11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
Matthew the Tax Collector
13 Then He went out again by the sea; and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them.
14 As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.
15 Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi’s house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him.
16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”[c]
18 The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”
19 And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.
21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. 22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath
23 Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began to pluck the heads of grain.
 24 And the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”
25 But He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him:
26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?”
27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

1.　 さて、彼らは湖の対岸に来て、ガダラ人たちの国に入っていった。
2.　そして、彼がその小舟から出るとすぐに、墓場から出てきた、一つの汚れた霊につかれた男性が彼と出会った。
3.　その男性は墓場に住んでいたが、鎖を使ってさえも、・・だれも彼を縛っておくことができなかった。
4.　彼はしばしば手かせ足かせと鎖とで縛られていたのであるが、その鎖は彼に引きちぎられ、手かせ足かせは粉々にこわされてしまったので、だれも彼をおとなしくさせることができなかった。
5.　また、絶え間なく、夜も昼も、彼は山々やもろもろの墓場の中で、大声で叫け続け、そして、石で彼自身を傷つけていた。
6.　さて、彼が遠くからイエスを見ると、彼は走ってきて彼を拝んだ。
7.　それから大声で彼は叫んで言った。「おれとあんたとの間がどうだって言うのですか？イエスよ、至高者なる天の神の息子よ。天の神によってあなたにお願いだ。おれを苦しめないでくれ。」
8.　 というのは、彼がその男に向かって、こう仰せになったからである。「この男から出て来い。汚れた霊！」
9.　そこで彼は彼にお尋ねになった。「何と言うのだ。お前の名前は？」すると、彼は、答えてこう言った。「レギオンです。おれの名は。おれたちは大勢なんです。」
10.　そして、彼にその国から追い出さないようにと熱心に懇願した。
11.　さて、豚の大群がその山々のふもとで飼われていた。
12.　そこで、その悪霊共は皆で彼に懇願して言った。「おれたちをあのブタの中に送ってあいつらの中に入らせて下さい。」
13.　すると、イエスはすぐに（彼らに）お許しになった。すると、汚れた霊共は、出て行ってその豚の中に入り込んだのである。（およそ２千頭ほどいた）すると、その群れは切り立った所に殺到して駆け下り、湖の中に落ち込んでおぼれ死んでしまった。
14.　そこで、その豚を飼っていた人々は逃げ出して、町や田舎に言いふらした。そこで、彼らは何がおこったのかを見ようとして出てきた。

15.　それから、彼らはイエスのところに来た。そして、レギオンの悪霊にとりつかれていた人が座っていて、服を着て、正気になっているのを見て彼らは恐れたのである。
16.　また、目撃した人が、悪霊につかれていた人と、あのブタとのことを彼らに詳しく話した。
17.　すると彼らは彼に彼らの地方から出ていくようにと願い始めた。
18.　そして、彼が小舟にお乗りになると、悪霊にとりつかれていた人が、彼といっしょに行かせてくれるように願った。
19.　しかし、主イエスは、彼にそれをお許しにならないで、仰せになった。「汝の家に帰りなさい。そして彼らに、主がどんなに大きなことを汝にしたか、また、汝を哀れんだかを話しなさい。」
20.　それで、彼は立ち去って、デカポリスで、イエスが彼にどんなにか大きなことをして下さったかを言い広めた。すると、皆は驚いた。
21.　さて、主イエスが小舟に乗って、ふたたび対岸に渡って行かれた時、大群衆が彼のところに集まってきた。そして、彼は湖岸におられた。
22.　すると、見よ、スナゴーグの長たちのひとりが来た。ヤイロスという名であった。そして、彼は彼を見ると、彼の足元にひれ伏した。
23.　そして、彼に一生懸命に願って、こう言った。「私の小さな娘が死にかかっています。来て、あなた様の両手を彼女に置いてやって下さい。そうすれば彼女はなおって生きます。」
24.　そこで彼は、彼といっしょに出発した。すると、大勢の群衆が彼について来て彼のところに群がった。
25.　さて、ある女性が十二年間も長血を患っていた。
26.　そして、多くの医者のもとで、さんざん苦しめられていた。彼女は持ち物を全て使い果たしてしまったのに、何も良くならず、かえって悪くなっていたからである。
27.　彼女はイエスのことを聞いて、群集の後ろから彼のところに来て彼の着物にさわった。
28.　彼女は思ったのである。「この方（彼）の着物にさわることさえできれば、わたしは良くなる。」と。
29.　すぐに彼女の血は乾いた。そして彼女はその体の中で、苦痛が癒されたことを感じた。
30.　すると、イエスはすぐに、彼から力が出ていったことを知って、群集の中で振り向いて仰せになった。「だれが私の着物にさわったのか？」
31.　しかし、彼の弟子たちは彼に言った。「（あなたが）ご覧のとおり、群集があなたに群がっています。〔それなのに〕あなたは『だれが私にさわったか？』とおっしゃるのですか？」
32.　それでも、彼はこの事をした女性（彼女）を会おうとして、辺りを見回しておられた。
33.　すると、その女性は、恐れ震えていたが、何が自分に（彼女に）起きたのかを知ったので、彼の所に来てその（彼の）前にひれ伏した。そして、彼に本当の事をすべて語った。
34.　そこで彼は彼女に仰せになった。「娘さん。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのだ。安心して行きなさい。そして、あなたの苦しみから癒されていなさい。」
35.　彼がまだ話しているうちに、スナゴーグの長の家から人々が来て、こう言った。「あなたの娘さんは亡くなっております。もはや先生を煩わせることはないのではありませんか？」
36.　しかし、イエスはそれらの言葉を聞くと、彼はすぐにそのスナゴーグの長に仰せになった。「恐れるな。ただ信じていなさい。」
37.　そして、彼はペテロとヤコブ、そしてヤコブの兄弟ヨハネ以外は、だれも彼といっしょについてくることをお許しにならなかった。
38.　それから彼は、そのスナゴーグの長の家にお入りになった。そして彼は騒ぎと、大声で嘆き、慟哭している人々をご覧になった。

A Demon-Possessed Man Healed
5 Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains,
4 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.
7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.”
8 For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” 9 Then He asked him, “What is your name?”
And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”
10 Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains.
12 So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.”
 13 And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
14 So those who fed the swine fled, and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had happened.
15 Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had beendemon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.
16 And those who saw it told them how it happened to him who had been demon-possessed, and about the swine.
 17 Then they began to plead with Him to depart from their region.
18 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him.
 19 However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”
20 And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.
A Girl Restored to Life and a Woman Healed
21 Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. 22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet 23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”24 So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’”
32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
35 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”
 37 And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
38 Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly.
 39 When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.”
40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying.
 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”
42 Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement.
43 But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.
